St Kevin’s find a bit extra to force replay

-

But Kevins now had a bit of momentum and three points in a row from Callan (2) Aidan Craven edged them in front.

Stefan Geoghegan levelled it up for Bracknagh, but with two minutes of normal-time remaining Seanie Crosbie picked out Callan, who turned his man and fired low to the net to put the Kevins a goal ahead.

From the resulting kick out Peter Cunningham kicked a long hopeful ball into the danger area, which St Kevins failed to deal with it and when the ball broke to Brereton he blasted to the net to send the game into extra time.

Callan netted his and Kevin’s second goal within thirty seconds of the re-start, again winning possession well and beating his man with another top-class finish.

But once again Bracknagh came back and two points from Robbie Barron and Dillon Broderick left one in it.

Lee Crosbie kicked an excellent point for the Kevins to open a cushion again, but three quick points from Brereton, county man Peter Cunningham and Barron put the Offaly men a point up in injury-time.

The home side looked dead and buried, but they summoned that never-say-die attitude that has served them so well this season and with two minutes of injury time played Seanie Crosbie stepped up to convert a 45-metre free and send the game to a replay which Leinster Council hacve confirmed will take place on Saturday at 3pm at an Offaly venue.
