The Drogheda native has played just four matches for the top English professional side since joining them owing to injuries, missing out on most of the season domestic as double-win-wellwell as winning the Sky Blues’ run too the last 16 Championsof the Women’s ms League where they have been drawn against Danish side Brondby.

Reflecting onn what has been a mixed start to herer professional soccer career, the formerr Our Lady’s College Greenhills student (pictured) said:

‘With all the bad luck iin theh world, I had just earned my position in the team, before unfortunately re-injuring myself, this time on my left ankle, requiring surgery and a four-month recovery.

‘It hasn’t been easy and some days are better than others, but I’m over the worst of it now and just last week I finally got back running on the green stuff again.

‘Thankfully the team have had a great season in terms of winning trophies and our success in the Champions League so far, but I do feel like I haven’t played that much part in it.

‘With regards medals, I’m not sure how it works, and if I didn’t get a medal I would be upset, but I think as far as I’m aware I will get oone.’

Despite al the setbacks, Megan remains positive in terms of her long-term ambitions, which also include getting back into the senior international international set-up.

‘Overall I’m happy happy here at Manchester City,’ she said, ‘and although not having the best of starts to my professional career I am optimistic about getting past this injury-stricken time.

'I’m hoping that over the next year I have better luck in trying to prove myself in the league and potentially play in the quarter-final of a Champions League game next March, providing the girls qualify.’
