seven different scorers, did themselves no favour as they missed some easy lay-ups and that proved costly as the Dublin outfit’s Carla Perez converted a marvellous three-pointer with 30 seconds remaining to secure a 25-22 away win.

Also playing Killester on the day were the Under-16 Cadette B team, in division 2. Suzanne Obisan was the first to score in the match, but that was as good as it got for this side as Killester grew in confidence and ran in easy lay-ups.

It was the final quarter before Our Lady’s scored again and that only served to put a small amount of respectability on the scoreboard, which read 34-6.

On Friday, it was the turn of the Under-16 Cadette A Division 1 team to travel to Inchicore to take on OLM Drimnagh.

Boasting an Under-16 from the Dublin panel and a second club player, Our Lady’s knew this was going to be a difficult test and the Boynesiders were 12-2 down after four minutes and 16-6 behind at the first break.

However, the team never gave up and Eimear Clarke was inspirational for her side as they kept the score respectable, going into the last quarter trailing 42-24.

In that final period their perseverance and determination paid off as they scored 10 points to Drimnagh’s 6 to finish with a respectable 48-34 defeat, with nine different players registering points in the game.
