STATSport deal adds up for Louth

THE world renowned Dundalk sport analysis firm STATSport were unveiled as Louth GAA’s new primary sponsor last week.

The company, which count Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus among a prestigiou­s client list will back the county for the next three years, covering all four inter-county football and hurling teams at senior, under 21, minor and junior level.

With offices locally, in Dundalk and Newry, and globally, in Chicago and Florida, STATSports has grown to become the world-leader in GPS player tracking and analysis provider in elite sports.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new sponsor, Louth County Board chairperso­n, Des Halpenny stated: ‘I am delighted to welcome STATSports into the Louth GAA family as our new county sponsors.

‘We are looking forward to working with a progressiv­e, global company who are at the forefront of sports science technology. This is a great fit for Louth GAA where we are continuall­y striving to improve and enhance the all-round developmen­t of our players.

‘In an uncertain time in the financial world, it is a great recognitio­n of business success in the county that we have a highly successful locally based company flying the flag for Co Louth. I look forward to a mutually beneficial partnershi­p between both parties and a bright future.’

Meanwhile, STATSports co-founder, Sean O’Connor outlined his company’s perspectiv­e. ‘We are proud to be able to assist with the promotion of Gaelic Games within County Louth and beyond. Gaelic Games have been a part of STATSports’ growth from its early days, and as such, we are delighted to be able to contribute to the developmen­t within our local county. We look forward to the partnershi­p, both on and off the field, over the coming years, in the hope, that in some way, we can play our part in bringing about some success’.

Mr halpenny added: ‘Louth GAA would also like to acknowledg­e the contributi­on of all their sponsors, in particular, their previous county sponsor of four years, Morgan Fuels, and wish them every success in the future.
