FARMERS MARKETS

Sonairte is delighted to announce that starting on Sunday 11th June at 11am, Irish Farmers Market will hold a WEEKLY MARKET here at Sonairte. Join us each Sunday, to mix with the locals, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the wide range of stalls, while being amazed at how Organic producers mix well with interestin­g Irish crafts and Multicultu­ral foods. Make it a day out for the whole family, everyone is welcome.

EAST MEATH BRIDGE CLUB.

A very well attended AGM took place on Tuesday the 23rd of May. The members observed a minutes silence in memory of their esteemed past President Maureen O’Brien. The incoming committee was elected as follows: President: Freda McGrane; Vice Pres Alice Smyth; Hon Sec Hugh Leech; Hon Treasurer Marion McKenna; Pro Elma Delany; Ex Officio Geraldine Fox; Liaison Bernie McDonnell. Committee Marita Leech; Loraine Cooney; Siobhan McElearney; Ann McCulloch and Eleanor Grimes. The “Clare Drew Player of the year Salver” was presented to the winner Betty O’Brien. The “Peggy Smith Memorial Trophy” was presented to the winners Anne Kirwan and Bernie McDonnell. Outgoing President Geraldine Fox was thanked for a most successful year and presented with a bouquet of flowers. Charity Bridge will commence on Tuesday 30th May at 7.30pm and will run weekly in L& B Golf club. All are welcome.

MR. WILLIAM HAGEMEN RI P

The village of Laytown is saddened to hear of the death of Mr. William Hageman. A member of the much loved and respected Hageman family in Laytown. Mr. Hageman died in the Beaumont Hospital surrounded by his family. The funeral Mass took place in the Sacred Heart Church Laytown on Saturday last with burial afterwards in Reilig Mhuire Cemetery. We extend sincere condolence­s to his family, his beloved wife Kathleen, daughters Marie, Joann, Catriona and Siobhan; grandchild­ren Niamh, Neil, Katie and James; sisters; brothers; extended family, friends and neighbours. May William Hageman rest in peace.

GREENHILLS SUMMER CAMP

Greenhills Summer Sports Camp will take place this year for two weeks: July 10th – 14th & July 17th – 21st. MEATH LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

This pilgrimage will take place from Sept 12th until the 17th Sept and will be led by bishop Michael Smith. The fare is €729 for full board including insurance and travel taxes. In relation to any person that might be in hospital or a sick person in our community who might wish to go on this pilgrimage, anyone who may know someone in the area who would like to go please contact 041-27384.
