IS SOCIAL MEDIA UNSOCIABLE?

Last week I read Brendan Matthews article on people that were using headphones and probably being oblivious to their surroundings. Definitely being oblivious to the sounds of nature. It would appear that these gadgets including mobile phones take up a significant part of ones life. It may be only just down the road when humans morph into robots. Conversation may be on the way out

I mean person to person conversion which is a lot different to social media stuff.

Incidentally the World Health Organisation (W.H.O) has published results of a survey that was carried out from 2002 to 2014. This survey was carried out in forty two counties where two hundred thousand people were interviewed.

Whilst there are positives associated with social media there is a down side to it as well, like cyber bullying, impact on mental health and loss of sleep.

The World Health Organisations main author of the report is Dr Jo Inchley who mentioned that there were impacts of health from “being sedentary” including cardiovascular disease, obesity and type two diabetes. The report also mentioned that adolescents were ferried in cars most of the time and very few of them go out to play games which were the order of the day a few short years ago.
