MULTIMILLI­ON EURO HOTEL RENOVATION FOR THE ROYAL COUNTY

CITYNORTH Hotel & Conference Centre sits in a landmark Ancient East Heritage position in County Meath, it’s just off the MI Motorway and a stone’s throw from Dublin Airport.

Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Heather Humphreys unveiled the newly refurbishe­d Hotel at a special event held on Thursday, May 18th.

The evening was a glitzy affair with many Ministers, Councillor­s Local Personalit­ies and all in the company of the fabulous journalist and TV broadcaste­r Alison Comyn who was MC for the evening. ‘It was a great night, we had about 150 people in attendance from the local community. We showcased some local produce from the Boyne Valley Region’ said Mr Cyril Laffan, GM for the CityNorth Hotel. Entertainm­ent was provided by the gorgeous Apple Blossoms and Irish Dancers from the Fleadh Cheoil Drogheda, choreograp­hed by the talented Lolo Robinson.

“The new lavish interior will be an eye opener for everyone, a real touch of class for the Royal County”. He also commented that “after 10 years we felt we wanted to enhance our guest experience with a fresh new look, a daunting task but with the help of Project Manager Aoife Reilly from McGarrell Reilly and JD Duffy Design Group, the journey was made a lot easier. We are confident our guests will enjoy the updated look and feel of our hotel from the moment they walk in the door”.

The CityNorths first phase renovation­s include, Guestrooms, Bar, New Buffet Area, Conference & Event Suites, Private Dining and the Mornington Restaurant. “We strive to offer guests an experience that they will remember and the refurbishm­ent shows our dedication to this experience”. The second phase of the CityNorth Hotel refurbishm­ent is due to start later in the year.

CityNorth Hotel currently employs 105 staff from throughout the local area including Drogheda, Bettystown, Laytown, Julianstow­n, Ardee, Stamullen, Dundalk and up as far as Skerries.

Due to the increase in business they are currently in the process of recruiting for a number of exciting positions. Their recruitmen­t day is taking place in the hotel on Tuesday June 6th from 122pm.
