FR. AIDAN WILL BE MISSED

Those of us who attended Mass last weekend were no doubt surprised maybe even shocked following an announcement made by our Parish Priest Fr. Aidan Murphy. Having been with us since 2007, Fr. Aidan announced that he is going on a Sabatical until Summer 2018.

In August he will depart for the USA where he will undertake studies at the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkley, California.

Fr. Aidan, a native of Togher was ordained to the Priesthood in 1987 and spent time in a number of Parishes before being assigned to Termonfeckin.

During his time here he celebrated the Silver Jubilee of his Ordination in 2012 and has just approached the 10th Anniversary of his appointment to this Parish. Many things have happened in the Parish since his arrival and he also brings out the true meaning of Church ceremonies very strongly by involving Parishioners.

He will certainly be missed therefore it is very fitting that we wish him well, thank him for all he has done and keep him in our prayers.
