Benefits of TM forms two talks

- By HUBERT MURPHY

THE benefits of Transcendental Meditation are seen as huge into the future in terms of stress and how we live our daily lives.

That’s the view of teacher Noel O’Neill, who says TM is now backed by international experts as well as GPs, including locally based, Dr Alan Moran, who speaks highly of the relaxation technique.

Noel says the method can help with everything from heart problems to blood pressure and at this stage, 300,000 GPs in the USA have officially backed it.

‘It has a profound impact on the nervous system,’ Noel explains. Noel says with TM, the mind and body settle down to a deep state of relaxation for 15 to 20 minutes, twice a day.

‘ TM is a bit like taking a mental bath. It allows all the stresses of the day to be released in a natural way.’

The likes of Clint Eastwood, Jerry Steinfileld and Hugh Jackman have all endorsed its merits.

Noel, who lives on Scarlet Street, has been a teacher of TM for 20 years and runs talks on a regular basis.

‘If people want to know more, they can just come along to a meeting,’ he states.

The next talks are on July 6th at 8pm in the Barbican on William Street and 2pm on July 8th at the same location.

‘We explain the whole course and people can decide if it’s for them,’ Noel adds. He can be contacted at 0861946792 or check out www.TM-ireland.org.
