Plunketts look ahead to the next five years
OLIVER Plunketts are planning a great few years ahead, building on their 75 years in existance.
The club launched a five year plan last week, in the company of incoming President of the GAA , John Horan.
The Plan itself was set out in the format that encompasses all aspects of GAA activity and community involvement. Initially a facilitator from outside – Jim Mullery – was appointed to guide the debate and get the views of all the members at an Open Forum. These suggestions were then organised into five prime categories and further teased out before being approved and presented in published booklet form.
The five principle areas covered in the plan include Games and Coaching; Communication/PR and Cultural activity; Club Structure and Administration; Facilities Development and Finance and Fundraising.
Targets and time-scales are clearly set out and these will be monitored regularly as regards progress and will be tweaked as necessary in order to ensure smoother implementation. The booklet incorporation the plan details also includes information on the Club’s background, its history to date and a collection of photographs showing some of its past members and the clubs activities over the years.
‘We are grateful also to the Mayor, Pio Smith, and the Cathaoirleach of the Louth County Board who were in attendance also as guests. Present also were Jim Mullery, treasure of the Meath Board as well as politicians Fergus O’Dowd T.D. and Cllr. Emma Coffey. Players of all ages, parents and members were present in good numbers and enjoyed the pizzas and refreshments provided by SuperMacs who were unveiled as the club’s new main sponsors at the event also,’a spokesperson added.
