HERITAGE WEEK EVENT IN TEACH RAITHNEACH

As part of Heritage Week 2017, there will be a talk entitled ‘Creatures of the Night’ in Teach Raithneach on Friday 25th August at 7.30 pm.The creatures in the spotlight will be Barn Owls and Bats, John Lusby, of Bird Watch Ireland will be informing us on the habitats of Barn Owls. Representa­tives of Broomfield Mens will be on hand to present the Barn Owl Boxes which have specially constructe­d over the Summer by some of their Members.These boxes will be sited in suitable local areas over the coming months. Following this, weather permitting, it will be the turn of the Bats. Our resident expert Dr Niamh Roche of Bat Conservati­on Ireland will guide us on a local Bat Walk. All are welcome to attend, refreshmen­ts later in Teach Raithneach.

CEMETERY SUNDAY.

The Blessing of the Graves will take place next Sunday 20th August in The Mullagh at 3 p.m. and St. Dennis’s at 4.30 p.m.
