- By HUBERT MURPHY

GET ready for the fright of your life on Sunday next, October 29th, when the second Drogheda Zombie Walk takes place, leaving the Laurence Shopping Centre at 3pm and taking a mystery route that will end in the Town Centre shopping centre about an hour later.

Up to 300 are expected to take part and the event will support three local charities.

A brainchild of Declan Kierans, Alzheimers Ireland, Drogheda Homeless Aid and SOSAD will all benefit.

‘ There has been a great reaction,’ Declan stated this week. ‘ We hope to have about 300 taking part and it should be a fun day for everyone.’

People can come along on the day and pay €10 but should come dressed for the occasion!

People can also get sponsorship cards and gain free entry. Those cards are available from the three charities involved.

There is a free BBQ in McPhail’s afterwards for all those taking part and later that night Electric Avenue take to the stage.

There is also free entry for Fusion and the Electric Ballroom for people of the appropriate age.

The draw for some great footballing items will also take place in the Drogheda Town Centre at 5.30pm. They include signed jerseys from the Italian under 21s and the Brazilan Ronaldo as well as a signed captain’s armband from top keeper Gianluigi Buffon. Tickets are €5 and will be on sale on the day or again from the charities.
