Newclassat Playmates Montessori
Playmates Montessori, which is celebrating its 24th year in business, was delighted to welcome its new class when it reopened its doors in September.
The school welcomed back pupils returning and all the new pupils starting.
According to owner Jackie Walshe the first few days were what her and fellow teachers Sarah Dowling and Naomi Leonard describe as: ‘ The usual mayhem’!!.
‘We have 15 children who returned to us from last year – Alex Fisticanu, Amanda Zale, Caoimhe Walshe, Chloe Fennell, Elise Healy, Millie Healy, Elise Webb, Elsie Walshe, Danielle Brady, Gerard Osawaru, Junqi Huang, Matas Varinauskas, Mohamed Gharib, Nikita Borenkov and Rose Gadou.’
The remaining 15 pupils started Montessori for the first time making it was a new and exciting adventure for them – Anastasia Kondratiuk, Anayah Asif, Austeja Kackauskaite, Bao-An Ninh, Bao-Nam Ninh, Emilija Rumba, Gustas Orla, Islam Hassan, Jessica Wang, Joel Carpen, Leons Strazds, Maia Tang, Naomi Alves, Wendy Ren and Yu Fei Ji.
Jackie explained: ‘ The children settled in really really well. We had a great September, during which we celebrated World Peace Day with lighting candles and singing our ‘ Light a candle for Peace’ song and we made a lovely handprint art for grandparents day.
October started with Road safety week and now we will enjoy the built up to Halloween.
There are places still available in the afternoon class which runs from 1.00pm – 4.00pm.
Any child who turns 3 between September and the end of December this year can start their free pre-school in January 2018. Following last week’s budget the January and April start for ECCE will stop next September. Once a child is 2 years and 8 months before the 1st of September they qualify for that school year.
