Regina gets sneak preview in Duleek

-

MINISTER Regina Doherty recently visited the GAA grounds in Duleek to see for herself plans for a new state-of-the-art all-inclusive Community Centre out at the GAA Grounds in Duleek.

Local Duleek-based Councillor Stephen McKee staid: ‘It was important to have Regina down to show her our plans and to lobby for her support. I know that she was very impressed with the plans and we appreciate her support.

‘As a member of the Committee responsible for delivering this project, I am delighted that Meath County Council have granted planning permission for this important development for the Community.

‘ This project is at an early stage but the awarding of planning permission provides huge momentum. I am working closely with all the stakeholders, along with my colleague Thomas Byrne T.D., to advance this project for the benefit of the entire area.’

‘It’s all systems go now and we are looking forward to receiving further financial support through the Sports Capital Grants Scheme this September.

‘It makes sense as a relatively small community for our sporting clubs and community groups to actively co-operate to make the best use of available resources and funding and I pay tribute to all the Community groups in the area in reaching agreement to develop this project.’

‘As a parent with small children myself, it is vital that we do all we can to improve facilities and community infrastructure in the area for our youth and I along with the Committee are fully committed to helping deliver a top-class facility for the Duleek area in the near future.’
