LOUTH LOOKING GOOD AWARDS 2017

The annual Louth Looking good Awards took place in Dundalk last Thursday, 9th November. Our cemetery featured again in the list of merits. The four committee members are delighted to again come 2nd this year and hope with further improvemen­ts that they are get to 1st place in the near future. The work to improve our cemetery started in 2003 and the committee would love to get new volunteers onboard to help keep up the great work they do. Well done to all involved you have done our parish proud.

NEW YEARS DAY GRAND PRIZE DRAW

Tickets are now available for the Glen Emmets New Years Day Grand Prize Draw. With first prize being €6000, 2nd Prize €2000, 3rd Prize €1000 and 10 winners will get €100. The ticket costs just €50 and the draw will take place at 9pm on 1st January 2018 in the Morning Star. Tickets are available from any of the committee members or the Lotto Hut Saturdays 12-6 outside Lynch’s Centra, Tullyallen. This could be the ideal solution to your Christmas Gift problems but tickets are limited so when they’re gone, they’re gone. It would be advisable to get your tickets purchased early on.

PARISH NEWS

The next Do This in Memory Mass will be on Sunday the 26th of November at 11am. We will have a speaker from Trocaire speaking at Mass about gift cards on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of November. Then Trocaire gift cards will be on sale on 25th and 26th of November. Your support is much appreciate­d.

On Wednesday the 22nd of November we will have rosary and meditation­s for suffering and persecuted Christians around the world at 7pm followed by Mass at 7.30pm which will remember those who are suffering or who have died for their faith. This is part of our outreach project (Aid to the Church in Need) which is been undertaken by our Parish Pastoral Council for this coming year. All are welcome to this special time of prayer and celebratio­n of the Eucharist.

The lists of the Dead sheets & envelopes now available at Church Door. A novena of Masses, All Souls day, the Fridays of November & First Fridays of each month. Rosary each day in the month of November in the cemetery at 2.30pm. All are Welcome.

MEN’S SHED

The Men’s Shed Tullyallen meet up every Tuesday and Friday mornings 10am till 1.00pm. This is open to all men in the Parish and surroundin­g areas. Everyone has something

to offer the Shed they would be delighted to get new members on board. They are currently in process of obtaining a site for their workshop.

TOWNLEY HALL GOLF CLUB NEWS

The winners of last the 9 hole re-entry played 4th / 5th November are as follows: 1st Pauric Pentony with 22 points, 2nd Jim Faulkner with 22 points and the Midweek winner was Jim Faulkner with 21 points

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

Slimming World have two classes each week on Thursdays. The first class is 5pm and the second is 7pm. Why not head on down to the Glen Emmets Clubrooms and get on the right track.

TULLYALLEN PARENT & TODDLER GROUP

Group meets on a Thursday morning 9.45 to 11.45 upstairs in Glen Emmets. There is a small cost of €3 for a cuppa and a wee chat and entry to Glen Emmets lotto. The Kids are not left out as they get toast and juice. They are always open to some new faces, this even includes parents, grandparen­ts and minders - all welcome.

LOTTO RESULTS

Results for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday 7th November 2017. The Grand Prize Draw was for €2,400 and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were: 8, 16, 19 & 31. The 2 Lucky Dip winners received a ticket each for the New year’s Day Grand Prize Draw (worth €50) well done to Martin Campbell & Niamh Markey. Next week’s draw is €2,500. CARMEL BOYLE’S CD LAUNCH

Carmel Boyle, a singer/ songwriter from Monasterbo­ice Drogheda is known internatio­nally for her spirituall­y orientated songs, many inspired by Celtic Christian spirituali­ty. Her latest recording is inspired by the sacred site at Monasterbo­ice and the 6th century Saint Buite/ Naomh Boice associated with the area.

The launch is on Sunday, November 26th at 4pm to 6pm at An Croi Wisdom Institute, Tullyallen. There will be an opportunit­y to hear a live performanc­e of the songs and some light refreshmen­ts.
