AMIE HAS A TRUE STAR QUALITY

-

THE ever increasing popularity of Drogheda Soprano, Amie Dyer, is reflected in the acclamation she received following her recent performance at the Alzheimer Concert on her “home patch” in the Holy Family Church in Ballsgrove. The capacity audience were enthralled with her individual singing but her duet with renowned tenor, Eugene Ginty, was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening.

This most pleasant young girl also endears herself to her audiences with her charming demeanour as well as enchanting them with her beautiful voice.

She is quite petite and draws gasps when her voice excels with renditions such as ‘Nella Fantasia’ which defies her stature.

On meeting her, one is immensely impressed by her lovely manner and friendliness for someone who possesses such an outstanding talent. Already she has quite an array of performing achievements and accomplishments and is presently studying music at the Royal Irish Music Academy.

Amie Dyer had an innate love of singing, practically from the time she was born.

It was not until she attended St John’s and St Paul’s Schools in Rathmullan that her desire to sing was realised when she became a member of the school choir under the musical tutelage of the first influential figure in her singing life, Niall Boyle.

Whilst content to be a member of the school choir Amie was anxious to become a soloist in her own right, something to which the older pupils were always assigned. Her determination was acknowledged by choir master, Mr Niall Boyle, and Amie’s solo singing career commenced at the tender age of nine years old. She was requested to sing the ambitious Christmas carol, ‘ O Holy Night’ on her first performance and was so impressive, the next big influence in her singing life, Fr David Bradley, wasted no time in including her as a soloist in the Holy Family Church for

the Christmas Masses and all major liturgy celebrations.

This is an affinity with the Holy Family Parish community to which Amie has remained loyal and dedicated
