Family land Lapland win at M1 Park
THE Connor family from Drogheda are jetting off to Lapland on the holiday of a lifetime this Christmas courtesy of Drogheda Retail Park.
The local retail park gave away this once in a lifetime prize worth €4,000 in conjunction with Sunway Holidays in the run up to Christmas.
Dad Ronan entered the Find the Elf competition in Drogheda Retail Park on Donore road and were selected to take part in the grand final event with five other families.
Lucky dad Ronan represented his family at the event, taking part in a ‘Crystal Maze’ style finale to see how many snowballs he could catch while locked inside the giant Drogheda Retail Park snow globe.
Ronan, Louise, Mia (11) and Sophia (7) from Liscorrie are now flying out to Lapland courtesy of Sunway Holidays for a once in a lifetime visit to Santa Claus.
The family will visit Santa’s Lapland village and post office where they can meet Santa Claus and Rudolph, as well as enjoying a husky sleigh ride and snowmobile adventure.
The final was held in Drogheda Retail Park as part of the Christmas ‘ Letter to Santa’ event.
Local youngsters got the chance to post their letters to Santa in a giant letterbox under the watchful eye of Mrs Claus herself.
And Mrs Claus guaranteed that all children posting letters will get a reply from Santa Claus himself.
Mrs Claus was accompanied by her elves, entertainers, a snow machine and there were lots of family photo opportunities with the Drogheda Retail Park giant snow globe.
“This event was a great opportunity for families to start the Christmas season together,” said Freda O’Donnell, Asset Manager, Drogheda Retail Park.
“This was truly a once in a lifetime prize and we are delighted to have worked with Sunway Holidays to make the Connor family’s Christmas dreams come true.
“Families are at the heart of all of our events at Drogheda Retail Park, something that was in evidence at both our Letter To Santa Day and our Halloween Spooks Parade.”
