Steel Magnolias audition at St Brigid’s Drama group
AUDITIONS for Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling will be held this coming week in the Barbican Centre, Drogheda, as St. Brigid’s Drama Group set the wheels in motion for their forthcoming main production of 2018.
The auditions will be held at 8 pm-10pm on Monday night, December 11th.
The director chosen for this production, Barbara Carr, has been responsible for highly successful St. Brigid’s productions in recent years such as Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel and Lady Windermere’s Fan by Oscar Wilde.
Barbara will no doubt bring this experience to bear to deliver another enjoyable dramatic night’s entertainment with Steel Magnolias, a comic drama which explores the relationships of a group of women in northwest Louisiana and the ebb and flow of their friendships as their lives revolve around the central character who has a serious life-threatening medical condition.
Steel Magnolias is set mainly in an in-home beauty parlour and has a large number of strong female roles to be filled. St. Brigid’s Drama Group are always looking to encourage new acting talent onto the stage and would love to see new faces arrive at the audition.
The group is very open to anyone interested in offstage and backstage involvement in this production to come along to the audition night also.
St. Brigid’s production of Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling will be performed in the Droichead Arts Centre for five nights, April 17th-21st, 2018.
