Survey on mental health services reform
Louth people are being invited to take part in a new survey aimed and reforming and improving mental health services across the region.
The survey entitled ‘My Voice Matters’ organised by Mental Health Reform is part of a consultation on mental health services.
The groups ‘A Vision for Change’ (AVFC) proposes a radical change in ethos and approach to the provision of mental health care. The recovery model, which lies at the heart of this new approach challenges the traditional psychiatric response in current mental healthcare systems in Ireland.
Louth TD Gerry Adams is encouraging people in north Louth to take part in a survey to identify gaps in mental health services .
Speaking about the importance of the survey Deputy Adams explained: ‘Mental Health Reform want to hear from people using mental health services and the people who support them.
The surveys are open now until the 5th of January 2018 and can be filled in online, on paper, or over the phone with Mental Health Reform I have been campaigning for some time for the HSE to provide adequate mental health services in north Louth. I would encourage people in the area to input into this consultation and make their voices heard.’
Information on the survey and the overall campaign can be found at the website www.mentalhealthreform.ie or by phoning 01 874 9468.
