State Street back a great lunch event for the chamber

ON Friday last, Drogheda Chamber welcomed the local business community to the d Hotel for their annual Christmas networking lunch.

The event was a tremendous success and raised much needed funds for the Boomerang Café ( Youth Centre and Café). Catrina Culligan, representi­ng Boomerang Café, thanked President of Drogheda Chamber, Paddy Callaghan, (pictured) and the business community in Drogheda for their ongoing commitment and support of the service.

Guest speaker on the day, Michael Carey of East Coast Bakehouse, described to a captivated audience, how he set up his current business in Drogheda. He went on to emphasise the importance of businesses supporting local organisati­ons, such as Boomerang Café, and pledged to match the funds raised on the day to demonstrat­e his company’s commitment to the town and such services.

Also speaking at the event was Pauline Ashwood of Drogheda Classical Music Series, “Music gives me a buzz. Putting together and promoting concerts that I believe in gives me joy.” Pauline is passionate about Classical Music and about putting Drogheda on the map for it. She invited the business community in Drogheda to really get behind the Series, which runs from September to March.

The event was sponsored by State Street. Mayor Pio Smith and Superinten­dent Andrew Waters were amongst the special invited guests.
