He had made many friends in that part of the world due to his business contacts and had been living there for some years. One tribute simply stating ‘his smile will shine forever.’

Son of John and Nora Wogan, he was a past student at Gormanston College and they too recalled their former student.

He was a member of the Leaving Cert class of ‘92 and was a former prefect. ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, young daughter and the extended Wogan family. May he rest in peace.’

Jonathan was well known in the Wogan’s Interior premises on Shop Street and helped set up the Louth Craftmark area in the store some years ago to promote local works.

Speaking to the Drogheda Independent in recent years, he said people love the personal service that the store is famous for.

‘ The one thing people know about Wogans is that they’ll get the personal touch and the staff have been here for years. If you have a problem they’ll sort it out,’ Jonathan added.

John Wogan opened up the business in the early 80s on George’s Street and moved to Shop Street in 1989, with a major revamp of the premises in 1997 at the former Connolly’s base.

Jonathan formerly lived in Blackrock and was the beloved husband of Zulee and father of Mila. He is survived by his parents John and Nora, sister Siobhán, brothers Alan, Niall, Ronan and David and a wide circle of other family members.
