The injured party returned to the house to discover €6,500 he had in cash in a box in his bedroom was stolen after the house was allegedly burgled. The accused was questioned by gardai and arrested.

At last Friday’s sitting of Drogheda District Court she was served with a book of evidence.

The Director of Public Prosecutions directed that the defendant is to be tried on indictment and Judge John Coughlan told her she was being returned for trial to Dundalk Circuit Criminal Court where she will face her next hearing on January 23rd.

The court also heard the accused can be sent forward to the Circuit Court on a signed guilty plea for sentencing, if that arises.

However, the defendant has not yet indicated how she intends to plead.

Judge Coughlan gave the defendant the formal alibi warning that she must provide to the prosecution within 14 days details of any alibis she intends to rely on in the course of her trial.
