JP McMahon to share his food experience­s with the Boyne Valley

RENOWNED chef, restaurate­ur and author JP McMahon (pictured) is set to visit the Boyne Valley later this month, to share with members of the Boyne Valley Food Network, the story of his commitment to the educationa­l and ethical aspects of food, to buying and supporting the best of local and freerange produce, and engaging directly with farmers and producers.

JP is Culinary Director of the EatGalway Restaurant Group, which comprises of Michelin-starred Aniar Restaurant, award-winning Spanish restaurant Cava Bodega and Tartare Café & Wine Bar. JP is also the founder of Food on the Edge, one of the biggest and most talked about internatio­nal food events in Europe.

The Boyne Valley Food Network, a collective grouping of local producers, farmers, chefs and food service providers, will host its next event on Tuesday 30th January at 5.30pm in Tankardsto­wn House outside Slane. The Network seeks to engage with all food and drinks stakeholde­rs in the region to collective­ly promote local Boyne Valley produce through its new ‘Discover Boyne Valley Flavours’ brand and raise the profile of the region as a foodie destinatio­n.

Joining the speaker panel are Sam Dennigan from Strong Roots who will share his recipe for success in the retail sector with their range of frozen food; and Colm Hanratty of Sixtwo Digital on the power of digital marketing.

This jam packed night will conclude with the official launch of the Boyne Valley Food Series brochure for 2018.
