Man revived after suffering cardiac arrest

LOCAL emergency services have been praised after their quick action helped to save the life of a man who had collapsed and needed to be revived last week.

The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service (BFRRS) were amongst those who were at the scene and helped to carry out CPR. The man, who is thought to have been in his late 60s, collpased on the outskirts of town close to the cemetery. When emergency services arrived on the scene and doctor and a nurse who had been passing by had already started CPR.

A defibrilla­tor was also used and the man, who is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest, was successsfu­lly resusitate­d. The National Ambulance Service praised the quick thinking of everyone involved in the successful resuscitat­ion of the cardiac arrest patient.
