Colaiste na hInse secure more silverware

AOIFE Walker secured Coláiste na hInse’s first piece of silverware this year when she retained the title of National Oratory Champion at the Matheson National Debating Championsh­ips.

The Matheson National Debating Championsh­ips in partnershi­p with the Law Society took place in University College Dublin. Eighty 4th, 5th and 6th year students from all over Ireland took part in Ireland’s largest senior Mace debating competitio­n. Students took part in 3 debates over the course of the day. Following the Grand Final Ms Walker was announced as the National Oratory Champion having excelled in the skills of persuasion, charm and eloquence.

The achievemen­ts don’t stop there with Junior students Mark Hanley, Peter Phelan, Aoife Forkin, Laragh Philips, Eahba Brereton-Hurley and Liam Walker representi­ng the Colaiste at the Leinster Finals of the Matheson Junior Debating National Mace which will take place on the 10th March in Castleknoc­k Community College.
