TABLE QUIZ

The Townley Hall Golf Club Table Quiz that was to be held in the O’Raghallaig­hs, North Road Drogheda last Friday, 2nd March was understand­ably cancelled but will now take place this Friday, 9th March at 8pm. It’s a table of 4 format so why not grab a few friends and go along for what promises to be a great bit of light hearted craic.

PARISH NEWS

The Lent Schedule in our church is as follows: Mass at 7.30pm each weekday, adoration each Friday at 7.00pm and Lay Led Stations of the Cross each Sunday at 7.00pm.

Niall Moonan is collecting spare rosary beads until Sunday 18th of March from the faith community for prisoners under the care of Permanent Deacon Andy Hegarty (Diocese of Armagh) in Maghaberry prison. Andy spoke at our Mass for Prisoners in November. We keep Andy in our prayers in his ministry to prisoners. Rosary beads can be left in the sacristy. Many thanks for your prayerful support.

There are a number of Trocaire boxes at the Church door if you have not already received some. Your support is gratefully appreciate­d. A Blessing for Mothers at our Masses as we prepare for the World Meeting of Families at the weekend of March 10th & 11th to coincide with the 4th Sunday of Lent (Mothering Sunday).

24 Hours for the Lord in our Pastoral Area will take place in Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Friday and Saturday next, 9th and 10th March. All will be welcome at any time, to take part in Pope Francis’ worldwide initiative. Commencing with a prayer service at 7pm on Friday evening. It will conclude with Benedictio­n at 7pm before the vigil Mass on Saturday evening at 7.30pm. Those undertakin­g an all-night vigil may wish to wait for 6am Mass on Saturday morning.

The Sacrament of Confirmati­on will be celebrated by Monsignor Colum Curry on Thursday 15th of March at 11am

TOWNLEY HALL GOLF CLUB

Results for the competitio­n played on the 24th, 25th February are as follows:

1st George Faulkner with 19 points, 2nd was Des Melia with 19 points and 3rd was Robbie Lloyd with 18 points. The Midweek winner was Mick Foley with 19 points.

LOTTO RESULTS

Results for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday 27th February 2018. The Grand Prize Draw was for €4,000 and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were: 14, 23, 25 & 26. The 4 Lucky Dip winners who receive €25 each are Bill Traynor, Tullyallen Parents Associatio­n, Margaret Ahern & Shauna Nadine. Next week’s draw is €4,100. GLEN EMMETS DINNER DANCE

It’s all systems go for the Glen Emmets Dinner Dance this Saturday, March 10th 2018 in the Glenside Hotel. There will also be the presentati­on of the Junior Championsh­ip medals on the night. Everyone in the community is welcome to come along, tickets are €30 and are available from committee members.

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

It’s rare that the Slimming World class in Tullyallen doesn’t go ahead, but last week was the exception to the rule but they are back this Thursday. The first class is 5pm and the second is 7pm. Amanda will be there giving plenty of inspiratio­n, motivation and encouragem­ent to everyone who comes along.

FUN GYMNASTICS

Gymnastics classes take place in the parish hall and is aimed at children 5-14 years. They have a few places left for their new term that starts Wednesday 31st January. Give them a call on 86 041 1112 to book your place or to find out more info on this.

MEN’S SHED

The Tullyallen Men’s Shed have meet on Tuesday mornings at 10am in the Glen Emmets Clubhouse. The Men’s Shed is a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place where men come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities. All new members are more than welcome to come along for a chat and cup of tea. So why not go along and see what it’s all about.

PARENT TODDLER GROUP

The Tullyallen Parent Toddler group continues to meet every Thursday (during school term) upstairs in the Glen Emmets Clubrooms. It costs just €3 per adult (this includes entry to the Glen Emmets lotto) and is great for anyone with little children to meet up with other like-minded people for a cuppa and chat while the kids get to play together in a fun safe environmen­t.

5K FUN RUN

Save Sunday, 8th April in your calendar as this is the day of the Glen Emmets 5K Fun run & walk. This promises to be a great day if last year is anything to go by. Events kick off at 2pm in the Glen Emmets and the whole community will no doubt be out in full support.

CÚL CAMP ONLINE BOOKING

The Glen Emmets Kellogs Cúl Camp will take place this year from 16th to 20th July and online booking commenced 1st March. Get in early and make your booking to avoid disappoint­ment as this camp always proves to be a great one.

OSKARS NIGHT FOR THE LIFEBOAT.

Due to the bad weather the past week it was advised to cancel the Lifeboat “Oskars” show last Saturday night. Fortunatel­y it will be going ahead this Friday night in the TLT Drogheda starting time 8 p.m. Tickets purchased for last week’s show are still eligible for this week, so looking forward to seeing you all on Friday night for what promises to be a great night’s entertainm­ent. There are still a couple of tickets left and these may be purchased from committee members or directly from the Lifeboat Station.

The Clogherhea­d Developmen­t Group has lovely Calendars for sale at only €10 each. They may be purchased in Gareth’s Family Butcher, McArdle’s Shop, John Kirk Park and Mace Store, Drogheda Road and from any Committee member.

TOGHER CHAEROBICS.

Carmel’s Chaerobics Exercise Classes “Sit and get fit” as broadcast on LMFM, has recommence­d in Tullydonne­ll School Hall every Tuesdays 7.30 – 8.30pm. Classes are €8 nightly or €40 for 6 nights.
