Markings havebeen wornaway

-

COUNCILLOR Paul Bell has expressed his total frustration with Louth County Council’s failure to reinstate worn and faded road markings throughout the town despite the issue having been constantly raised under the roadworks report at every Drogheda Borough Council meeting since September 2017.

“Frankly I am very disappointed with the response of Louth County Council in this regard as many of the key junctions in our town are now unmarked and in a condition which I believe could lead to a road collision” said Bell

Commenting on his interaction with Council on the issue of road markings as raised by him Councillor Bell said “I have listened to a response which demonstrates a lack of focus which led me to request a full report of the areas identified for restoration of road markings and when this essential work will commence and be completed. The report is due before Council at the March meeting and I intend to ensure that it is published for public attention. Many of the major junctions have no stop lines or yellow junction boxes. Many of the ghost islands at major junctures have also been completely worn away”.
