Tributes to work of council staff

TRIBUTES have been paid to the work done by council staff and the emergency services during the severe snow experience­d throughout the county thanks to ‘ The Beast from the East’ and Storm Emma.

Speaking at the March meeting of Drogheda Municipal District, Chief Executive Officer of Louth County Council (LCC) Joan Martin said she wanted to publicly pay tribute to the wonderful work done by council staff for the week during the snow.

‘Especially the outdoor staff who did their best and beyond for people working in freezing temperatur­es.’ Ms Martin also thanked the huge array of people who helped out during the crisis, including the emergency services, the gardaí, fire brigade, ambulance service and so many others who helped in many different ways. Councillor­s also extended their thanks to the council for the work done by council staff.
