Council say no figures available for number of parking tickets in 2015

-

LOCAL councillor Frank Godfrey has said he intends to follow up answers he received from the council in relation to parking charges.

He asked a recent meeting of the council how many tickets were issued to motorists in Drogheda in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and what was revenue collected in Drogheda and Dundalk.

However, he was informed that for 2015, ‘ the number of tickets issued figures not available due to change of service provider’.

In 2016, 5,327 tickets were issued between March 1 and December 31 as the ‘new service’ began on March 1, 2016.

There were 10,078 tickets issued in 2017.

‘Why was a new service provider brought in and how can the council not have details of how many tickets were issued? he states.
