Network Louth hosts ‘impact’ event

NETWORK Louth and LEO Louth hosted an Enterprise Week event last Tuesday in the Crown Plaza Hotel Dundalk. The theme was “Personal Brand and Making an Impact – Communicat­e with Confidence” and was presented by Alison Comyn Communicat­ions. Alison is a television and print journalist and broadcaste­r, best known as news anchor of UTV Ireland’s current affairs programme, “Ireland Live”, and presenting programmes with RTE, BBC, Sky News and Channel 4.

There were over 60 ladies in attendance and Alison spoke about “the brand of ‘Me’” and how we put that across to everyone. She also told the audience “Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd” and had plenty of other tips and advice on good communicat­ions.

Aileen Phelan, President Network Louth, welcomed everyone to the event and spoke about what the network has to offer. Sarah Mallon, from the Local Enterprise Office, praised the work of Network Louth in supporting women in business. She also highlighte­d the role of LEO Louth in supporting entreprene­urs and SMEs in the set up and running of their businesses. Alma Jordan, from Agrikids, spoke about the support she received from Network Louth from the kernel of an idea to write children’s farm safety books to going on to becoming an award-winning business and delivering the farm safety message to children nationwide.
