Rosemary Lane is closed off

-

I WONDER how long will Rosemary Lane - one of the most original alleyways in the town’s history - will remain closed.

It’s situated at the side of the former Darby O’Gill’s pub on Laurence’s Street and has been closed off for a few weeks now.

From examining the scene, it appears the problem could be from above.

Guttering and loose slates are hanging over the lane and the real threat is that they’ll come down.

I suppose the issue is now securing the adjoining roof and making it totally safe.

It would be good to see this historic spot reopened sooner rather than later.
