CLAN NA GAEL GLYDE RANGERS 0-11

CLAN na Gael made it two wins from two in Group F of the Paddy Sheelan Cup when they defeated Glyde Rangers by four points on Thursday night.

A second half goal from Ray McCabe ultimately proved the difference as the Dundalk men prevailed in this encounter at Clan na Gael Park.

There wasn’t a lot between the teams in what proved to be a good work-out for both sides but it was the Clans who proved more accurate in front of the posts in the opening period and at the break were leading by 0-6 to 0-4.

The second half saw the teams continue to trade points but the Clans took a big step towards victory when McCabe scored the only goal of the game and despite closing the gap to four points the Tallanstown men were unable to find the goal they needed to get back into contention.

The hosts always appeared to be in control and with the help of points from Billy Smith and Conor Noonan they held out for a deserved victory.
