Mochs make point
GERALDINES ST MOCHTAS 2-11 4-5
ST Mochtas recovered from a very slow start to claim a draw against Geraldines in their Paddy Sheelan Cup Group E game in wet conditions on Friday night.
The game in Haggardstown saw the hosts get off to a flier as they led by 1-3 to no score in the opening quarter with the goal coming off an unfortunate Mochtas defender.
However, the Louth Village men rallied and with the help of a goal from Darren McMahon, they found themselves trailing by just 1-4 to 1-2 at half time.
It looked as if the Gers would regain control of the game when points from Stephen Reidy and Glen Trainor helped them establish a five-point lead. However, the Mochtas turned the game on its head with goals from substitute Stephen McCooey (2) and Nicky Browne to take the lead.
The Gers replied with a goal from Matthew Corcoran before they rescued a draw with a late point from Glen Trainor.
