New medal for widow

-

THE GAA have replaced an All-Ireland Senior Football medal won by the late Peter Moore with Meath back in 1967.

The original medal was among a number of items stolen from Mr Moore’s home some time ago and efforts by a number of Meath GAA officials to get a replacement has proved successful.

At a function in Jack Quinn’s pub in Scurlogstown recently Peter Darby, who captained the 1967 winning team, presented the new medal to Peter Moore’s widow Ann.

A letter from the Meath 1967 committee was read out at last week’s county board meeting thanking everyone involved for bringing the issue to a successful conclusion.
