Carranstown have final spot in the bag
CARRANSTOWN progressed straight to the upcoming Premier Division Final in the Fosters Duleek & Dart League when drawing with joint leaders Greyhound in the final round of matches last Friday.
Victory for Greyhound would have seen them qualify for the decider, but they must now play a semi-final against the winners of the last-eight tie between Sally Inn and Mariner.
Matthews made sure of top spot and a place in the Division 1 Final after an away win over Carranstown B, but the latter still enter the knockout stages along with Maguires and Boyne Valley.
In Division 2 long-time leaders Thatch C will contest the decider along with one of the following trio - Grennans, Foxs, Valley Inn or Lynchs.
The four qualifiers in Division 3 have already been decided going into their final round of games this week, but any one of the quartet - Sally Inn, Railway Bar, Mariner B or Admirals - could still finish top and progress straight to the final.
Provisional dates for the various league finals are the first and second Fridays and Saturdays of April.
