Phoenix club delight as Alecia is the top young twirler in the country

LOCAL baton twirler Aleica Flanagan (4) (pictured) has been declared Ireland’s top Pee Wee Twirler following her win at the national finals.

The Baton Twirling Association of Ireland National competitions 2018 were held in the National basketball arena in Tallaght and Aleica was there, representing the Phoenix Baton Twirlers.

This year Phoenix Baton twirlers took to the floor with each athlete taking on new challenges with many now progressing to more advanced levels within the sport.

This year Ireland host the European competition which will see competitors from all over Europe descend on Ireland to compete and the Phoenix Baton Twirlers have two athletes that are going forward for Trials on April 1st .

The club are currently welcoming new members to O’Raghallaigh’s GAA Club Dublin Rd Drogheda on Monday 5pm - 7pm, Thursday 6pm 8pm . Gormanston college Aras sports complex, Tuesday 5.30pm - 7pm and Flemmington Community Centre Balbriggan, Monday 7pm - 8pm.
