BEAST V EMMA.

The Beast from the East roared over Termonfeckin as was forewarned and certainly caused some havoc in the area. The BALSANTER Text Service was well in use keeping us informed of what was happening, such as trees down, impassable roads, accidents etc. Some events also had to be cancelled as a result. Then Storm Emma showed up causing more problems causing snow to drift but bringing a milder airflow to begin the thaw. Thankfully we did heed the warnings and stayed as safe as we could.

SINCERE SYMPATHY

The sincere sympathy of Broomfield and District Residents Association and the Community of Broomfield and District is extended to theFedigan and extended Fedigan Family on the passing of Joe Fedigan, Duleek and formerly of Rathbran, Lobinstown recently. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time for you.

BAD WEATHER THANKS

A sincere thanks to all those Community Volunteers who braved the recent inclement weather conditions to help neighbours and friends on a daily basis. Thanks to all those who helped clear the road network of the unprecedented snow to get the country moving again. Community Spirit and Volunteerism is alive and well in rural Ireland. Rural Ireland displayed great understanding empathy and tolerance during the bad weather spell, in many instances working in conjunction with statutory agencies and hired contractors to get their Communities up and running normally again. This is in stark contrast to those who seized the opportunity to loot and pillage and cause destruction and mayhem, and, in the process putting unwarranted pressure on the already overstretched Emergency Services. Rural Ireland, take a bow! Comhghairdeas do gach dhuine a bhi pairteach ann. Please support local businesses, they played their part too!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.

You can never bury the truth so deep that it can’t be dug up.

SEAN’S SHOW.

I was very lucky to be among the audience of Sean Tester’s new show “Glory of Love” recently in the Droichead Art Centre. From the moment the doors were open and we were greeted by the theatrical smoke on stage the night began with magic. Sean came on, started singing (all love songs) hence the title of show and we were lost in admiration. Also on stage with Sean were Edward Holly, Robert Finnegan and Claire Regan and they all performed outstandingly. Love was the order of the night and none more so when Sean announced he had fallen madly in love with Loretta Delaney and it showed in the manner of his songs. All the best is wished for Sean in the coming months and don’t leave it so long to have another show.
