Game of two halves in DkIT

-

A second half goal from substitute Peter McStravick helped Young Irelands come from six points down at the break to defeat Stabannon Parnells on Wednesday night.

The clash was held in DkIT and with the wind making life difficult for both teams it proved to be the proverbial game of two halves.

The opening period belonged to Stabannon as they dominated possession and midfielder Aonghus Giggins led the way in terms of scoring as he landed three points. Further efforts from Ken Lynch, David Cluskey and Fintan Martin ensured that the mid-Louth side went in with a 0-6 to no score lead.

The Dundalk men quickly got into their stride in the second half and gradually chipped away at the lead with the help of points from Luke Hazard, Shadam Azeez and Dermot Mone. The crucial score of the game came from Peter McStravick who came off the bench to fire in the only goal of the game and help secure the win.
