O’CONNELLS GLYDE RANGERS 2-7 1-10

IT ended honours even at a bitterly cold Darver on Thursday night.

The game was even throughout with Brian Duffy opening the scoring for Glyde before Robert Quigley (2) and Sean Cairns gave the O’Connells the advantage. However, the teams were level when Conor Sheridan and Dion Conlon found their range.

The Tallanstown side enjoyed the better of the third quarter and points from Aaron Devlin, Barry Brennan and Conlon had them leading by 0-6 to 0-3 at half time.

O’Connells got off to a flyer at the start of the second half when Sean Connolly netted two quick goals to take the lead, but from the resulting kick Fiachra finished off a well-worked move to make it 1-7 to 2-3.

It was nip-and-tuck therafter, but Glyde egded two in front and looked good for the win until Quigley landed his fifth point of the game with a couple of minutes to go and Dean Corrigan followed up with the equaliser with time almost up. O’Connells looked like they had the chance to win it when they were awarded a free but an off-the-ball saw the ref throw the ball up and he sounded his final whistle soon after.
