ROSSNAREE LITTER PICK 2018

Litter pick was a great success with most of the parish now covered thanks to Enda and John and their families who got a head start on us !! We had a lot of familiar faces and a couple of new ones. Thanks so much to everyone who showed their support and enthusiasm.

There are still a couple of stretches to be cleaned including the Drumman to Mullafin road, the stretch from Knockcommo­n cross down through Bessies and up to Sampsons corner.

The stretch of the N2 cannot be cleaned at the moment due to road safety issues.

DULEEK CARDIAC FIRST RESPONSE GROUP FUNDRAISIN­G TABLE QUIZ & EASTER RAFFLE

A fundraisin­g table quiz will take place on Thursday 29th March in The Carranstow­n Lodge Duleek at 9pm. Table of 4 for €20.

Saturday Easter Vigil begins with the lighting of the Paschal Fire on the Hill of Slane at 7.30. It will be followed by Mass for thecelebra­tion of The Resurrecti­on in Slane Church at 8pm (approx). Then on Easter Sunday, Mass in Monknewtow­n at 9.30am and Slane at 11am.

RORY SMITH MEMORIAL RUN

A motorbike social run in memory of the late Rory Smith takes place onEaster Sunday, starting from the Boyne Valley Inn at noon. All money collected will be donated to MS Ireland and Palliative Care. Further details from Greg on 0876914711. Rory Smith was killed in a motorbike accident two years ago while taking part in a charity Poker Run to raise money for SOSAD.

RATHKENNY REVELS

Preparatio­ns are well under way for Rathkenny Revels 2018 under the direction of Tina Price Lynch (musical director) along with her husband Adam (choreograp­her). All shows take place in Rathkenny Community Centre starting on Friday, April 6th. It continues on Saturday, 7th and Sunday 8th as well as the following weekend, Friday

A Blood Donation Clinic will be in Teach Raithneach, Starinagh, Collon, on Tuesday, April 3rd, from 4.30pm to 8pm.

PADDY’S FUN CYCLE

Navan Road Club would like to thank all who took part and supported their Paddy’s Fun Cycle on St Patricks Day. This novelty spin took place in and around the town with proceeds going to Meath River Rescue.

Jimmy Duffy received the prize for the most appropriat­e dressed man with Imelda Tully receiving the award for the most appropriat­e dressed woman. Thanks also to the Lantern Bar and Teach na Teamhrach for their support once again.

SOSAD CYCLE

Slane Spinners are gearing themselves up for the big 10th anniversar­y SOSAD Cycle which will be hosted by the club. It takes place on Sunday, May 13th, and this year the cycle will start and finish at Stackallen Pitch & Putt premises where there is ample facilities for parking cars etc. The signing in fee is €20 for the 105km or 50km fun run. Sign in at 8am, start at 9.30am sharp. Helmets compulsory, Soup and sandwiches on return. Online check in at eventmaste­r.ie

SLANE CASTLE 5K

This years Slane Castle 5k trail run/walk in aid of St Patrick’s national school takes place on Sunday, June 10th. Full details to follow.
