JOSEPH LEECH R.I.P.

There was much sadness in the community following the recent death of Joseph Leech, Beltichbou­rne following a long but very bravely fought illness. We offer our deepest sympathy to his family, relations and friends. Requiem Mass was offered in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Funeral in Termonfeck­in Old Cemetery. May he rest in peace.

EASTER CEREMONIES

All Ceremonies are in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Confession­s take place on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. Holy Thursday, Mass of the Lord’s Supper is at 7.30pm. On Good Friday, the Passion Service is at 3pm and Stations of the Cross at 7.30pm. The Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday will be held at 9pm. On Easter Sunday, Masses are at the usual times, 9.30am in the Church of the Assumption and 11am in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

ICA.

The members of Termonfeck­in ICA Guild are certainly being kept busy with their activities. The last monthly meeting on Wednesday March 7th was held in the Sewing Room, An-Grianan. With ICA National elections looming, the Guild Secretary read out the informatio­n on all nominees. Voting takes place at a later meeting. Guild member Marian attended a weekend Keep Fit course at An-Grianan which was sponsored by ICA and P.A.L.S. The aim of the course was to make fitness fun and there were plenty of games and exercises. Members now look forward to putting all this fitness fun into practice. Painting Classes will resume after Easter. Members had their usual Quiz night, Sing-Song and a lovely supper. Craft Classes will be starting on Wednesday nights. Members are asked to bring something to do or even come for the chat. New members are always welcome.

DRUMMOND HOUSE GARLIC.

Since its formation, Drummond House Garlic near Baltray has become a huge name in the Irish Food Sector and further afield. Noted and celebrity chefs have been singing its praises. Not surprising really as it keeps winning awards. The latest one was an Innovation Award in the National Enterprise Awards for Louth held recently in Dundalk. Congratula­tions again to Peter and Marita Collier on their achievemen­t.

ST. FECHINS LOTTO.

The numbers drawn were 7, 8, 17 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. The €100 winner was Gerard Meegan. Winners of €20 were Breda O’ Connell, Cormac Mc Auley, Martin Brady, Delores Collier and Verna Cassidy. The jackpot is worth €2,200 and is sponsored by Madden’s Centra, Termonfeck­in.

COLOUR RUN.

St. Fechin’s GAA invite all to join in a Colour Run which will be held at Pairc Naomh Feichin, Beaulieu on Easter Sunday. Registrati­on is open from 11am with races starting at 12 noon. It costs €20 for a family, €10 for an adult, €5 for Juveniles and €2 for children.

WEEKLY SET DANCING.

Set Dancing is on Thursday nights in Sandpit Hall at 8.30pm. All are welcome.

SEAPOINT PITCH & PUTT.

Due to the bad weather over St. Patrick’s weekend the Club had to cancel its Bank Holiday Fourball and extend the 18 Gross weekend competitio­n to include Monday. The results of this competitio­n will be in next weeks paper, on our website and also on our Facebook page. The competitio­n held last weekend was an 18 Nett. Seapoint Pitch and Putt Club are proud to be hosts of the Internatio­nal Irish Open Championsh­ip which is scheduled to be held on August 25th and 26th.

SEAPOINT GOLF CLUB.

Open Singles continue each Tuesday. Some up and coming events, Easter Monday: Open 2 Person Team Event ( contact 0419881066 for details), April 16th: Senior Ladies Golf Society, Sunday 29th April: Chairmans Prize. Ladies beginner lessons will take place in May - more details in April.

GOLF CLASSIC.

The Parish Golf Classic takes place on Friday June 1st at Seapoint Golf Links. A team of 4 costs €240. For team bookings, contact Aidan at 086-2612052 or Eleanor at 086-4532178.

ADORATION.

Eucharisti­c Adoration takes place on Monday evenings from 7-8pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Why not come and spend some quiet time in the presence of the Lord.
