The Voice Squad to spring into action in Carlingford Centre
WITH artistic co-directors, Zoe Conway and John McIntyre, and the support of Create Louth (The Arts Service Louth County Council), Caringford Heritage Centre is delighted to launch the third series of Sundays in Spring Concerts on 8nd April next with a very special performance by Gerry Cullen, Phil Callery and Fran McPhail, aka The Voice Squad.
Having begun on Sunday 8th April, the 2018 Sundays in Spring afternoon concert season will then run until Sunday 13th May. Each concert will be held in Carlingford Heritage Centre (formerly the historic Holy Trinity Church); feature a different artist; begin at 4.00 pm; last around one hour; and cost €12 (or €10 concession).
The programme for 2018 builds on the popularity of previous Spring Series in 2016 and 2017 and will welcome a diverse line-up of world-class musicians, singers and performers to the warm and uplifting surroundings of the Carlingford Heritage Centre.
The Voice Squad have worked with such artists as The Chieftains, Sinead O’Connor, Elvis Costello and the late great Liam O’Flynn, and have also recorded three albums of their own and toured Ireland, Europe and the USA. Live credits include the opening concert of Dublin’s Helix Theatre – particularly remembered for their performance of a special Shaun Davey arrangement of The Parting Glass – and the opening ceremony for the 2003 Special Olympics.
