ST BRIDES GERALDINES 1-10 0-10

ST. Brides finally got their first points on the Division 1 table with this win in Pairc an Chuinnigh on Sunday evening.

The visitors started off the better, with the aid of a strong breeze, and had the first score of the game straight from the throw in. This came from Matthew Corcoran.

A point from Paddy Geoghegan had the visitors two to the good within the first two minutes.

Patrick Reilly and Geoghegan exchanged two points each to leave the Gers leading 0-4 to 0-2 with 17 minutes played.

However St Brides were in the lead by twenty two minutes following three unanswered points.

Three converted free kicks in a row from Shaun Callan and Geoghegan (2) helped the Gers to lead by 0-7 to 0-6 at half time.

Brides opened the second half scoring with a fine long range point from full forward, Cathal Mc Kenna, and doubled their tally a minute later to turn a one point deficit to one point lead, this time through Kevin Hearty.

The Brides then claimed the only goal of the game when Ross Kehoe got through to put his team in command.

The Gers battled to the end and cut the gap to two points but a late score from Conaill Devin secured the win for the Knockbridge side.
