Big win for Irelands
YOUNG IRELANDS ST KEVINS 1-14 1-7
YOUNG Irelands scored an important win over Division 3 title rivals, St Kevins, in Philipstown on Sunday afternoon.
The home side went into this game on the back of some very impressive form but on this occasion they were unable to match a dominant Young Irelands emerged as worthy winners.
The Irelands took the game to the Kevins from the outset and a goal from Dermot Mone saw them take a 1-7 to 0-3 lead.
However, just before the interval the hosts were given a lifeline when Seanie Crosbie hit the net from a penalty to reduce the gap to four at half time.
However, the second half saw the visitors resume control and they added a further seven points to their tally to complete the victory.
