BE PATRIOTIC - BUY IRISH!
The country has just come through what was probably the most prolonged bad weather spell in living memory. The farming community were particularly badly affected. We should all make an effort to buy Irish and support Irish enterprise. In particular we should support the Irish food and agri-food sectors. Shop local if possible and help secure the future of Irish jobs and businesses. Is feidir linn le cheile!
VINTAGE TRACTOR RUN
A vintage tractor run in aid of St. Jame’s Hospital Cancer Unit will take place on Sunday 6th May 2018 starting at Hoey’s Timber Yard, Castlebellingham. Registration from 11.00 am, run starts at 12.30 pm. The run will finish at The Village Saloon, Dromin for refreshments and raffle. Contact Jimmy Sweeney on 087 2069465 for further information. SET DANCING CLASSES
Set Dancing Classes take place every Monday evening in Teach Raithneach from 8.30 to 10.30 pm. The ideal preparation for this years Fleadh Ceoil na h-Eireann in Drogheda. MUSIC NIGHT
Broomfield And District Men’s Shed are holding a music night in the Boyne Valley Inn, Slane on Friday April 27th. at 9 pm. Admission free. Everybody welcome. Raffle with lots of great prizes.
BROOMFIELD & DISTRICT WALKING GROUP
Broomfield and District Residents Association Walking Group are resuming their Tuesday evening walks 7 - 8 pm and will continue until September 2018. These are flat road and off-road walks. Male and female walkers of all walking abilities welcome to participate. Sunday walks continue all year round, 12 noon- 1 pm. For further information, contact Josie on 086/4458108
MAY BUSH COMPETITION
Following on the success of this competition to date, we are inviting people to take part again this year. A similar format to other years where a Child/Teenager and an Adult work together, to erect and decorate the May bush. Its about participation and team spirit, prizes given. Judges decision final. Please keep a watchful eye for dogs roaming unsupervised. They can cause untold damage to sheep and lambs flocks. Please report any sightings to the Gardai immediately.
