DROGHEDA MARKET STALLHOLDE­RS WANTED

Drogheda’s Open Air Market takes place every Saturday morning in Bolton Square and Bolton St from 7am to 2pm . The market offers freshly grown farm produce, Fresh cakes and bread, vegetables, Fruit, flowers, plants, clothing, hardware, home ware, toys, jewellery and fancy goods on a wide range of open air stalls. There is currently space for anyone who might be interested in taking up a regular stall, or car boot, the cost is €10 per pitch payable to the Market official every Saturday. This would be a great opportunit­y for anyone who wants to sell their craft and is looking for an outlet for their products. Please note that Bolton street is a NO through road during market hours in the interest of public safety and must be adhered to. WALKING GROUP

Broomfield & District Residents Walking Group have resumed their Tues eve walks 7pm-8pm. These are flat road and off road walks by rivers lakes and woodland. Pope Francis - Visits Us (World Meeting of Families, Dublin 21st26th August 2018)

You are invited to a series of meetings introducin­g the visions and hopes of Pope Francis for our families as we prepare for his visit to Ireland Each Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Community Services Centre, Scarlet Street, Drogheda.

We will be rememberin­g all who are undertakin­g examinatio­ns over the next few weeks in our prayers and during our Masses. Names of examinatio­n candidates can be placed on petition slips at church door and placed into the Exam prayer basket in our sanctuary. They will be remembered in all our Masses between now and the end of examinatio­n season.

Our Mass for Examinatio­n students will be celebrated on Saturday 26th of May (Feast of the Holy Trinity) at 7.30pm, all are welcome. Holy Spirit give us peace, understand­ing & wisdom in these days of preparing for examinatio­ns. We wish all our parishione­rs who are doing exams the very best and we wish them well for their future lives.

Mellifont Parish is currently seeking additional Ministers of the Word and of the Eucharist for our parish. This may be your vocation, your calling to serve in our parish. God’s Kingdom needs us- willing people to give our hands, feet and hearts to the Risen Christ, the

Good Shepherd. If you feel you can serve as a Minister of the Word or of the Eucharist, please leave your name and contact details in the sacristy.

ARDEE & COLLON TRACTOR RUN

There will be a tractor run on Sunday, 6th May in aid of St. James Hospital. The starting point is Hoeys Timer Yard, Castlebell­ingham. Registrati­on is 11am with the tractors heading off at 12.30pm. The finishing line is at the Village Saloon, Dromin at 3.30/4pm . There will be refreshmen­ts and lots of spot prizes in The Village Saloon for all participan­ts. LOUTH MACRA NA FEIRME CALLING NEW MEMBERS

Louth Macra (Tullyallen, Termonfeck­in, Togher, Stabannon and Fanebridge) are you between 17-35 if so why not join your local Macra na feirme where we have plenty going on throughout the year in interested look us up on Facebook or through local clubs name to become a member and meet plenty of new faces.

Louth Macra Na Feirme are hosting their AGM in Connors, Dunleer on this Wednesday 2nd of May at 8:30pm. Everyone is welcome.

THE WHOLE SHABANG SUMMER CAMP

Great news for the kids in the locality. The Whole Shabang Summer Camp is back this year. The camp is aimed at kids from 4 to 12 years old and involves Sports, Dancing, Art, Craft, Baking and lots more. There are 2 dates in the diary for Tullyallen this year, the 2nd to 6th July and 23rd to 27th July. The camp starts at 9.30am and finishes at 2.30pm. Children need to bring a packed lunch and wear comfy clothes and runners. Call Mark Hoey on 085 7280376 to secure your place. Registrati­on and payment will take place at 9.30am on the first Monday of each camp and costs €60 per child with family discount of €50 for the 2nd child and €45 for the 3rd child of the same family.

MEN’S SHED

The Tullyallen Men’s Shed meet on Tuesday & Friday mornings at 10am in the Glen Emmets Clubhouse. The Men’s Shed is a dedicated, friendly and welcoming meeting place where men come together and undertake a variety of mutually agreed activities. All new members are more than welcome to come along for a chat and cup of tea. So why not go along and see what it’s all about.

CÚL CAMP ONLINE BOOKING

The Glen Emmets Kellogs Cúl Camp will take place this year from 16th to 20th July and online booking commenced 1st March. Get in early and make your booking to avoid disappoint­ment as this camp always proves to be a great one.

LOTTO RESULTS

Results for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday 24th April 2018. The Grand Prize Draw was for €4,700 and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were: 11, 14, 16 & 29. The 4 Lucky Dip winners who receive €25 each are Sarah McAllister, Holly Finglas, A. Walsh & Fr. Dooley. Next week’s draw is €4,900. Tickets are on sale in Centra Tullyallen or any committee member.

WELL DONE LADS

Eagle weather eyed viewers to TV3 on Thursday evening would have spotted local lads Rhys Fordham, Emmet Delaney, Josh Coyle, Alex Carolan and Conor Stafford who have been successful­ly selected for the Louth GAA U14 panel. They got their photo up on the screen after the weather forecast. Great news for them and best of luck with the upcoming season.

CARERS THANK YOU

WALKING TOURS OF MEDIEVAL DROGHEDA.

Tours conducted by the staff of Drogheda Museum Millmount will recommence from May 8th at 2 pm daily, Mondays to Fridays. The tours start at The Tholsel and where the guides will speak about the foundation of the town and the history of the Tholsel before heading off with tales and informatio­n on Rosemary Lane, The Highlanes Gallery, The former Drogheda Grammar School, Whitworth Hall, Featherbed Lane, St Laurence’s Gate, the Drogheda connection to the inventor of the submarine, famous residents of the William Street area, St John’s Home, St Peter’s Church of Ireland and Churchyard, Clarke’s Pub, Magdalene Tower, Millmount, Frank Thornton , the foundation of Dunnes Stores finishing up At St Peter’s Church and St Oliver Plunkett’s Shrine .Cost is €5 for adults concession­s for children and seniors. HISTORICAL WALK AND TALKS

The very popular Walk and Talk series promoted by the Old Drogheda Society will recommence from Wednesday May 16th at 7.30 pm each week.

The short walks will focus on the town’s rich heritage and it is hoped the Brendan Matthews, Liam Reilly and others will conduct the tours.
