OUR first event of the week is our ever popular Summerfest Steam Train trips from Balbriggan to Drogheda and our official launch in O’Dwyer’s GAA Club. Throughout the week we will have events every evening, including music and sporting events, Balbriggan Roadrunners annual 5km run, guided tours of Bremore Castle, table quizzes, photo exhibitions and children’s events hosted by Balbriggan Library.

The Summerfest 10 year celebration weekend will kick off on Friday, 1st June with a wonderful weekend of activities for all the family. We will have our opening ceremony with music from some wonderful local guests. Progressive Credit Union’s Deal or No Deal competition live from the stage will be a show not to be missed and Friday will close with our annual fire work extravaganza on the beach, this year sponsored by Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce. Saturday is then packed with activities from our Sandcastle Competition to our Senior Citizen’s Tea Party and Bingo. Balbriggan’s Got Talent takes place on Saturday evening showcasing the wonderful talent Fingal has to offer. It is hosted by Brian Ormond and judged by Linda Martin, Derek Mooney and Brian Howard from our main sponsor, Progressive Credit Union. Tickets are available from The Bracken Court Hotel. Sunday brings the community together with a packed programme of events including, our annual pet show featuring a fantastic pet and reptile event, Wooly Ward’s Farm, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Duck Derby, Blessing of the Boats, live music and lots more. We have a carnival all weekend from Friday to Sunday giving everyone a chance to have some fun.

All our events are listed on the programme now available in shops and businesses, throughout the town and in Balbriggan Library, it can also be found online at www.balbriggansummerfest.com and Facebook. The festival could not happen without the help and support of Fingal County Council, local businesses, clubs, our volunteers, An Garda Síochána and all those who give their time to help us each year. So come to Balbriggan and experience a fun-filled week with something for everyone. We are looking forward to welcoming you
