Eddie Rankin takes on General Manager role at the new Village Hotel

THE owners of The Village Hotel Bettystown have announced that Eddie Rankin has been appointed General Manager of the hotel due to open this summer.

Eddie has over 20 years management experience in the hospitalit­y industry having held prestigiou­s positions at hotels in Dublin and Louth and also at Dublin Airport.

J P Egan, Co – Owner of the Village Hotel said: “In order to find the best person to take the helm of the Village Hotel, the role was advertised heavily locally and throughout Ireland and we are delighted to have appointed Eddie Rankin as the General Manager. As one of the leading figures in the local hospitalit­y industry along with a wealth of experience and proven track record of excelling in luxury hotel management, Eddie is without doubt the right person to take on one of the top hotel jobs in the North East and we wish him the very best in his new role.”

Eddie said he was delighted to take up the role: “I am honoured to have been appointed General Manager of the Village Hotel. The building programme is on schedule and I am looking forward to the challenge of working towards the reopening in the summer of this landmark Bettystown hotel.’

The Village Hotel will offer 16 luxurious bedrooms, The Bull & Tide Gastropub and the Garden Ballroom making it the ideal base for leisure and business guests. The hotels website is now live at www.villagehot­el.ie The hotel is owned by JP & Charly Egan and local developer Frank Taaffe.

The Village Hotel is a sister venue to the Black Bull Inn Drogheda and Richmond Fort.
