with a few testing hills thrown in for good measure and the star performer was Pat O’Grady who delivered a strong run to win his O-55 category in a lively 17:45, finishing 17th overall. Mike Staunton ran well and was 244th in 24:14, with Gerard Fay 303rd place with 25:37 and Donal Branigan 583rd in 31:07.

For the D&D ladies, Ieva Ofmane finished 211th in 23:33, followed by Joanne White who was 242nd in 24:04.

John Reilly continued his run of good form over the popular 5K distance when finishing 17th overall and second in category at last Saturday’s Castleknoc­k 5K.

Reilly, who went sub 18 minutes for the first time the previous week, had a solid run to finish in 18:41, proving that racing isn’t always about getting fast times but staying ahead of your rivals.

Barbara Byrne’s dedication to her training paid off when she produced a strong run to finish 77th overall and third in category in a useful 22:36, while Sinead Weldon also ran well to finish 86th in 22:46.

In last Saturday’s Oldbridge Parkrun, Paul Browne was D&D’s first finisher, 20th overall in a new PB time of 22:35, followed by Tony Corcoran who was 29th in 22:53.

Seamus Roe was 42nd in 24:53, with club coach Jos Haak 43rd place in 25:05. Louise Irvin ran well to record a new PB time of 25:56 when finishing 49th in 25:56, closely followed by Deirdre McFerran in 54th place with 26:22, ahead of Linda Bowe, Rose Dalton and Ruth Dunne.
