TERMONFECK­IN ICA.

The monthly meeting of the Termonfeck­in ICA Guild was held on June 6th and it was the last meeting before the summer recess. At the meeting it was decided to leave the committee the same as last year due to the splendid job it is doing. An Outing was planned for Friday June 15th to the “Botanic Gardens” and “Glasnevin Cemetery” followed by a meal in “The Thatch” on the way home. The next Federation meeting is on June 26th. The new Louth President is Susan Reynolds (nee Tully), a native of the Guild area and members wish her well in her new appointmen­t. Some members entered their crafts in the Co. Louth Agricultur­al Show. Congratula­tions to Rosemarie who won second overall prize for her crafts and Marian who came joint third. Members are looking forward to the An-Grianan Garden Party on June 29th. Members also enjoyed an evening in the The Garden Centre at An-Grianan, courtesy of Susanne. She gave plenty of advice on filling summer pots and loads of tips. Susanne also supplied lovely refreshmen­ts and members left full of enthusiasm, ready to get started. Painting Classes continue until the end of June. Termonfeck­in ICA Guild members are wished a long and enjoyable summer.

EAST OF IRELAND.

The excellent weather over the Bank Holiday weekend certainly brought out plenty of Golfers and East of Ireland Amateur Championsh­ips at the Co. Louth Golf Club was certainly buzzing. Congratula­tions to the winner Christo Lamprecht who came all the way from South Africa and finished on a score of 274. Irish man Mark Power from Kilkenny was the Runner Up on 276.

ST. FECHIN’S GOLF CLASSIC.

St. Fechin’s GFC will hold a Golf Classic on Friday July 27th at the Co. Louth Golf Club, Baltray. To book a tee time, please contact John at 087-1263578.

ST. FECHINS LOTTO.

There was no winner of the Lotto. The numbers drawn were 11, 14, 18 and 22. The €100 winner was Eileen Mc Donnell. €20 winners were Fergal Mc Nally, Orla Haughney, Rose Tiernan, Des Smith and Anthony Duff. The jackpot is worth €1,300 and is sponsored by Madden’s Centra, Termonfeck­in.

FAI SOCCER SCHOOLS

Bookings are being taken for the FAI Summer Soccer School which will be held at the Termonfeck­in Celtic F.C. grounds, Sheetland Road from Monday July 23rd - Friday 27th, from 10:30am to 3:00pm daily. It costs €65 per child and all participan­ts receive an exclusive kit (jersey, shorts and socks), backpack, football and certificat­e. All coaches are FAI accredited and Garda vetted.

SEAPOINT PITCH & PUTT.

There was no Club Competitio­n last weekend due to Cement Club hosting their Open. It began on Wednesday June 13th with the Over 55s and their Open Singles started on Thursday 14th and ran to Sunday June 17th. The Louth Down Monaghan Strokeplay took place the previous weekend and the results are as follows. Senior-Winner: Sean Goggin (MacBride) 91. Runner-up: Ian Donnelly (Cement) 95. Inter-Winner: Michael Vaughan (Inniskeen) 101. Runner-up: Gel Martin (Cement). 102. Junior-Winner: Ray McEvoy (Seapoint) 116. Runner-up: Martin McArdle (Inniskeen) 118. Ladies (Nett)-Winner: Audrey Donnelly (MacBride) 103. Runner-up: Noelene Bedford (Seapoint) 107. Members please check the entry board for entry sheets, especially the Ladies Club Strokeplay Friday June 29th, Club Singles Matchplay starting on Monday July 9th and Gents Club Strokeplay on September 16th. The draw for the Club Doubles Matchplay has been done and will be on the website and on the Notice board in the clubhouse in the coming days. 2018 Summer Camp dates are from Monday 9th July - Friday 13th July. Applicatio­n Forms are in Clubhouse. On August 25th and 26th, Seapoint Pitch & Putt will proudly host the Irish Life PPUI Irish Internatio­nal Pitch & Putt Open. Sunday July 29th: Seapoint Cup. The Restaurant is now open under new management.

CEMETERY SUNDAY.

The annual Blessing of the Graves takes place on Sunday June 12th in both Parish Cemeteries. The Service of Blessing in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheetland Road is at 3pm and in the Old Cemetery at 4pm.

ADORATION.

Eucharisti­c Adoration takes place on Monday evenings from 7-8pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Why not come and spend some quiet time in the presence of the Lord.

GREENHILLS SUMMER CAMP.

The Greenhills Summer Sports Camp will take place this year for two weeks: July 9th – 13th and July 16th – 20th. MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE

The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Associatio­n is holding “Drink Tea for IMNDA” event on Thursday June 21st in the Westcourt Hotel Drogheda. It runs from 10am to 2pm. Please support by popping in for a CUP OF TEA. All are welcome.
